Come build with us

Hello Gravel is hiring summer interns in New Orleans that are interested in Agentic Engineering.

Who we are

Hello Gravel sells rocks on the internet, delivered by the dump truck load. We've delivered thousands of orders of gravel, dirt, sand, and mulch to customers in all 50 states.

We're backed by a team of investors that include Tulane Ventures, 1834 Ventures, Benson Capital, and SNAK.

Most importantly, we're builders.

What you'd work on

We have a lot of technology driving our business. We'll help you find the right projects given our business needs and your interests. Most likely you'll work on multiple things.

Things we're building include: e-commerce platform, RockOS (our internal system to manage and automate order flow), Chuck our AI sales agent, Quarry our Slack bot, Dispatch our internal analytics tool, ad spend management tools, and there's lots more we want to work on.

Other projects may include buttoning up our agentic engineering pipeline and automated testing CI/CD stack.

What a successful summer looks like

You'll have access to all the tokens you need and you'll have budget and freedom to test and experiment with new tools within reason.

You'll ship hundreds of commits to production. You will likely break something in production and figure out how to fix it.

You'll apply what you've learned in school to real scenarios. You'll learn from an experienced team that has built successful products and have had successful exits.

How we work

Everyone at Hello Gravel builds. Technical and non-technical teammates both open PRs and ship code.

We have an office on Magazine Street in New Orleans (corner of Jackson and Magazine). At our stage, being in the same room lets us move a lot faster, so we're generally in office Monday through Thursday. But we can be flexible with class schedules, travel, and life stuff. Just communicate and we can figure it out.

About you

You don't need to know everything. You just need to be curious and want to figure it out. We're open to graduate and undergraduate students. Primarily looking for CS students.

Timeline & Compensation

You'll be hired as a contractor (1099). Starting at $500/wk with room to grow based on experience level and what you bring.

You can start when the semester ends or sooner, if you're ready.

We're very flexible, let us know your expectations and if it works for us, we can meet them.
